On November 24, the Thanksgiving Event went active in Dinogen Online.
Chicken Survival[]
A new gamemode, Chicken Survival, appeared in Mixed and Survival lobbies as a temporary game mode. The gamemode consists of players fending off chickens and chickencopters. It is unique in that it is the first survival mode to not have a Tactical Crate.
Starting Equipment[]
All players start with a Chicken Blaster (Sawed Off), a Musket (M1887 with Slug), a Hatchet, an Ammo Box, and a Frag Grenade.
As there is no shop crate, at the end of each wave, a Little Bird comes in and drops either a Weapon Airdrop, an Ammo Airdrop, a Turret airdrop, or any two of them.
Occasionally, a CH-46 Seaknight may enter and drop off an LAV-25, MRAP, or Growler. It never drops off an M1 Abrams or Quad Bike.
Enemies[]

The only types of enemies are Chickens, Savage Chickens and Chickencopters.
Chickens[]
Chickens are weak, fast attacking enemies. They are effectively a Compy, and make up the bulk of the enemy forces in Chicken Survival.
At first, they are not as fast and can be easily dispatched with a shot from the Chicken Blaster or Musket. However, as the game progresses, they get faster and have more HP, so keeping the gap is essential for survival.
Savage Chickens[]
Savage chickens are just tougher chickens.
Chickencopters[]
Chickencopters are airborne chickens, which are the primary threat in the entire gamemode. They effectively function like an enemy Cobra, with a catch - they spawn with completely random weapons. These can range from a mere pistol, all the way to highly lethal Sniper Rifles, Grenade and Rocket launchers.
Chickencopters start deploying from Wave 5 onwards, and can randomly appear in subsequent waves. They are the only enemies that will spawn during a Boss wave.
Because of the fact that they spawn with a random weapon, it is likely that a Chickencopter can spawn equipped with a launcher, capable of wiping out the entire squad, especially when coupled with their high fire rate, and if in large groups.
Some effective counters to Chickencopters include high penetration weapons like machine guns, sniper rifles, as well as lock-on launchers and SAM turrets. The MRAP also has extra resistance to explosives, and thus can be useful as a refuge for the squad for when a chickencopter spawns with explosives.
SAM turrets can take the heat off the squad, allowing them to focus on killing the chicken horde, so these should be protected.
Strategy[]
Like Deadswitch 3 Stakeout Survival, there are only random airdrops which must be opened and looted to increase survival chances. The starting Chicken Blaster is a decent crowd control weapon, but only functions at short range, so you may want to find a Dragon's Breath shotgun (KFC!) or grenade launcher for crowd control. The Musket is a weapon to fire at priority targets such as Savage chickens and Chickencopters.
Since chickens are considered a dinosaur, they also take double damage to guns with 5 Penetration or above - some machine guns and Sniper Rifles already have 5 Penetration, making them solid choices in fending off the horde. They are also effective against Chickencopters, but SAM turrets are best for the job.
When turret airdrops come, you want to grab these, especially SAMs, for dealing with chickencopters.
When a vehicle airdrop comes, it will drop either a Growler, an MRAP or a LAV-25. You want to take these and use the mounted weapons and armour for protection, especially LAVs, which are tough and their autocannons make for fearsome anti-chicken weapons. Find a Repair Tool somewhere, too.
Stay near the camp at all times on later waves. The best weapons at this point are grenade launchers, fire shotguns and Hollow Point LMGs.[1]
